Tom Kayser Tom Kayser is an executive search consultant with over thirty years experience working with clients to understand and meet their needs. Having spent twenty-five years as a sales engineer and project manager in manufacturing and supply, Tom has a sound understanding of the competencies that employees must have if they are to help their companies compete in today’s marketplace. And with more than twenty years in various leadership positions on recruiting, port security, and hazardous/explosive materials handling teams in the United States Coast Guard Reserves, Tom has also developed a keen eye for the subtle character traits that distinguish loyal A-Players that drive growth from talented but self-absorbed B- and C-Players that can drag companies down.

After serving his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, Tom entered the private sector in production control and manufacturing for the Xerox Corporation and transferred his Reserve responsibilities to the U.S. Coast Guard in a port security unit. His unique approach to “management through influence” enabled him to pull together strong teams as he took on tough leadership assignments in industry and the Coast Guard. Upon moving to Windsor Plastics, Tom found himself heading up ad hoc multi-department task forces to help his clients work through difficult design, engineering and purchasing problems. Over the years Tom has worked with such demanding clients as Honda, Xerox, Eastman Kodak, Smith & Wesson, Digital Equipment, Law Enforcement Agencies and the United States Government. Through it all, he has demonstrated the good judgment to find the best solutions for client needs, the patient but firm hand of the natural leader, and the gritty determination to get things done.

Tom holds a real estate license, is active in his local parish community, and shares his passion for the outdoors with his family by fly fishing, canoeing and countless other woodsy activities. As founder and owner of an art business, “A Light in the Forest,” he also designs and builds his own line of Adirondack Twig Furniture. Tom works out of our Fairport, New York office and lives with his wife Stephanie in a lovely country home just outside of the city.
